There is a way to embed the Scribd document into your Joomla website using the component & plugin JEmbedAll: the example used is the book The Great Bridge: The Epic Story of the Building of the Brooklyn Bridge written by David McCullough. You can select any other URL from the site containing a text and add the text into Joomla articles, modules or script like this one: [ scribd = https://www.scribd.com/book/225120022/The-Great-Bridge-The-Epic-Story-of-the-Building-of-the-Brooklyn-Bridge ] (without spaces).
The result is this:

In the administrator section you can edit this string - you can change its name and the CSS code attached. Using the CSS code you can set the width and height of the embedded document, the position and other attributes (like the margins). Also, the JEmbedAll configuration section contains a form that allows you to edit some variables that controls how the video is watched.
