How do one person build a website?

The response is simple: you choose your own domain, you get your own hosting (a space and resources on a web server where the website can run and be accesible all day) and start installing Joomla and whatever else you need.

Joomla needs php and a database (mysql for example), you may need to send and receive emails, your Joomla may need to send emails to your web subscribers (you may need to tell them that you are writing, when you are writing or even what are you writing), ans so on. We can help you designing your website and to extend your website (you may want to add new features on it).
